It's been a while since Disney's completed its merger with 21st Century Fox, and now that the Mickey Mouse House has finally begun enforcing its changes to the company, fans have begun wondering whether Marvel would finally begin integrating the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the rest of Fox's other mutants, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though the future of the X-Men still seems to be fairly uncertain, X-Men: The Last Stand actor James Marsden wants Marvel to know that he's willing to reprise his role as Cyclops if ever the studio would need him.

Screen Rant just recently went on an interview with Marsden during the press junket for Sonic the Hedgehog and during the discussion with the X-Men star, the publication asked whether or not the actor would ever reprise his role as Cyclops in the MCU.

Marsden's response? He'd love to return to play Cyclops.

"Great question. I mean, I look at those three movies I was in, and it became a huge part of my life. It was a family, all of them. And I was very grateful too. Like, that's 40 years at the time of backstory and iconic characters, beloved characters. So, I'd be a fool to say no to that," the actor admitted.

The actor also says that he's a friend of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and that he and the film executive talk from time to time.

"Who knows where that universe goes? Feige is still a friend of mine, and we talk occasionally. But you just don't know where it's gonna go," the actor went on. "Right now, it's with all the young guys; all the kiddos. But I would never be opposed to coming back to that. I hold a special place in my heart for that experience."

Marvel could tap Marsden again to play Cyclops. The actor doesn't seem to have aged much, though we're not entirely sure what Marvel would be looking for if they were to bring the X-Men into the MCU. Let's wait and see what Marvel has planned for the franchise.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
