Ben Affleck leaving The Batman might have been the biggest DC-related news to hit the net but the company has even more news for you. DC and Warner Bros. have confirmed release dates for The Suicide Squad, officially directed and written by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, and DC Super Pets. Both movies are slated for 2021 releases so we should be able to hear more news in the coming months.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, DC Super-Pets will be coming out on May 21, 2021. This will be an animated film that focuses on, you guessed it, the super pets of the DC universe. Inspired by DC's Legion of Super-Pets, it stars Superman's dog Krypto, Batman's canine companion Ace the Bat-Hound, and Streaky. More super-pets are expected to appear as well.
James Gunn's Suicide Squad, now titled The Suicide Squad to differentiate it from David Ayer's version, will be coming out on August 6, 2021. It's not yet known if Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and the rest of the first film's cast will be returning, though another report from THR claims that there could be an all-new cast.
Who these new characters will be are still unknown, though the report claims that this will feel like a James Gunn film and have the director's vibe. If this means we can get King Shark in the movie, that would be great.
How excited are you guys for these new DC movies?
