James Gunn Says Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Will Introduce Important MCU Character

There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special since it's happening a lot sooner than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. But what can we expect in the Marvel Cinematic Universe television special? James Gunn is hyping up the Disney+ feature by claiming it will bring in "one of the greatest MCU characters of all time."

A fan recently reached out to Gunn on Twitter asking for details on the Holiday Special. The request specifically asks if the episode will bring in a special character like Boba Fett in the Star Wars Holiday Special. Not surprisingly, the filmmaker had an awesome response.

"In my incredibly subjective & admittedly often odd opinion, we'll be introducing one of the greatest MCU characters of all time," Gunn wrote. He then added the hashtag #GotGHolidaySpecial.

Well, now that's an interesting way to hype up the feature. We're not sure who Gunn is talking about but there are speculations that the Holiday Special will finally introduce Richard Rider aka Nova into the MCU. At this point, it's only a matter of time before Nova debuts in the MCU but there's still the possibility it isn't someone fans are already expecting. Whoever this new character will be, we'll be looking forward to meeting them next year.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has not yet been given an official release date but is already expected to premiere on Disney+ in Christmas next year. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has not yet started production. However, it is already scheduled for release on May 5, 2023.
