James Gunn Reveals He's Working on Another DC TV Project

James Gunn is currently one of the busiest people in Hollywood since he has the Peacemaker series coming on HBO Max in a few days and he is currently working on the MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Of course, he recently directed The Suicide Squad which was one of the top acclaimed films last year. But as it turns out, he is working on another DC project.

In an interview with Collider, Gunn was asked if he is currently involved in another DC project to which he responded, "You know, we're stepping forward. It keeps happening. We'll see what's happening, and I'll know what's happening very shortly. I dealt with it last night and this morning." When asked if the project is for TV or film, he answered, "It's TV. There you go."

Gunn didn't specify which DC property is his secret project based on, but at least we have a confirmation that he is working on another DC TV project that we will find out soon what it will be about. Even though The Suicide Squad didn't do well at the box office, it did receive some of the best reviews in a DCEU film. Gunn's venture into the DCEU has been received well by the fans and the critics and it's not surprising that he is involved in another DC project.

It's also interesting that Gunn is jumping back-and-forth between DC and Marvel making him one of the very few people who is working in both comic book franchises and it's impressive that he is able to do them simultaneously. It does debunk some of the perceptions from fans that there is a rivalry between the two comic book franchises. Hopefully, we'll get to hear more information about Gunn's DC TV project soon as a lot of fans are curious to find out what it is. Who knows, maybe it's another The Suicide Squad spin-off series.
