James Gunn Revealed a Tiny ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Detail

James Gunn isn't big on responding to rumors when it comes to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He has said it in the past. He vowed to reveal any detail about the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. However, he recently answered a fan via Twitter to "clear up" a post-credits question.

It's just tiny though, one word to be exact. Gunn "revealed" that the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 post-credits scene is scripted. That's it.

In contrast, Guardians of the Galaxy's post-credits scene was as random as any we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel normally makes use of post or mid-credits as teaser for its upcoming movies. However, with the first Guardians, we saw a dancing Baby Groot and The Collector bumming it out in front of his destroyed museum together with Howard the Duck and Cosmo the Spacedog. It had been a carefree clip unexpectedly put together after Captain America: The Winter Soldier took the supposed epilogue that was a nod to TheAvengers, according to Cinema Blend.

This time though, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 team has made sure that the post-credits are scripted. Gunn didn't say anything other than "scripted," so it remains unknown whether it'll be a tease to other Marvel films.

With that said, I think it's highly likely that the Guardians 2's post-credit could be a tease to Avengers: Infinity War Part I even if Gunn said he doesn't feel the need to connect Guardians to MCU's heroes on Earth. After all, with all the build-up on Infinity War, it looks like it could be one of the biggest battles we've seen and Earth's Mightiest Heroes might need help from the Guardians at some point.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated for release on May 5, 2017.
