James Gunn Reportedly Casts Nathan Fillion In The Suicide Squad

It looks like The Suicide Squad is adding yet another Marvel star. A new report reveals that James Gunn may have cast Nathan Fillion in a mystery role.

The report comes from Deadline, which reveals that the Firefly actor will be joining the highly-anticipated DC film. Although details about the role were not revealed, there are speculations that Fillion will play a small part in the Warner Bros. movie.

This isn't the first time that Fillion will be working with Gunn. The two have previously collaborated on Slither and Fillion played a menacing alien in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Fillion is known for his role as Captain Mal in the ill-fated series Firefly and the ABC series Castle.

The news comes just a day after another Guardians of the Galaxy star joined The Suicide Squad. It was previously reported that Steve Agee has been cast as the voice of King Shark in the DC Extended Universe flick. Agee appeared in the second GOTG film where he played the Ravager named Gef.

The Suicide Squad will bring back Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. The new cast members include Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, and Flula Borg.

Who will Nathan Fillion play in The Suicide Squad? Stay tuned for more updates on this story. In the meantime, the film is scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
