Chris Pratt has always been known as one of Hollywood's most genuine celebrities and one would think that he'd be the last target of today's "cancel culture". Well, we've proven over the last three years that the Guardians of the Galaxy actor isn't immune to experiencing backlash from the fandom.

For the uninitiated, Pratt has long been rumored to be associated with a Christian church that allegedly violates the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. It even got him in a major feud with The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page who called him out on social media for attending the said religious organization.

Just recently, the Jurassic World: Dominion star has denied any involvement with the church and even claimed that he's not much of a religious human being.

Bafflingly enough, despite telling his side of the story after all these years, fans aren't buying any of Pratt's most recent claims. In fact, they've questioned how the actor claims he's "not a religious person" when he's been known to express his faith on social media on more than one occasion.

Now, Pratt's frequent collaborator and good friend James Gunn is chiming in amidst all of the allegations being thrown at his GOTG star. In an interview with Men's Health, Gunn said that people who act like they know Chris' background are absolutely wrong.

"It absolutely infuriates me," The Suicide Squad director said before adding: "I know all those guys, and I like all those guys. But Chris Pratt is seriously one of the best people in my life."

Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently scheduled for release on May 5, 2023. Before that, Pratt and his GOTG co-stars will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, hitting cinemas on July 8th.
