James Gunn might be busy keeping an eye out on the Guardians of the Galaxy as the ragtag team of space misfits-turned-heroes join the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, however it seems like the Marvel director already has a time frame for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Taking to Facebook, Gunn decided to give his sincere thanks to the Guardian's fans in the UK after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had a great week in DVD and Blu-ray sales. Commenting under the post, one curious Marvel fan decided to ask Gunn when exactly the film would get a follow-up, and Gunn was quick to say "In a little under 3 years."

That might seem like a long time for fans wanting to see Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) Groot (Vin Diesel) and Mantiss (Pom Klementieff) make their way back to the big screen for another separate space adventure, but right now Marvel's got a full plat. Not only does the studio have the massive two-part Avengers movie to deal with, it also has a full line-up for 2018 and 2019. It perfectly makes sense that Gunn would estimate Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 release date sometime in 2020.

Luckily, Marvel fans will get to see the Guardians as well in Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018 and Avengers 4 on May 3, 2019.
