James Gunn Confirms The Suicide Squad Soundtrack Will Be Different From GOTG

There are several reasons why people are happy that James Gunn has been reinstated as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. One of these reasons would be Gunn's return to social media where he has always interacted with his fans and answered important questions. This is how we're finding out that The Suicide Squad will have a completely different soundtrack from Guardians of the Galaxy.

One fan asked Gunn on Twitter about whether there will be plenty of music in The Suicide Squad. Take a look at the filmmaker's response below.

"Music is an incredibly important part of ALL of my films, both soundtrack, and score. So, yeah. But it will be a lot different than Guardians musically - and in so many other ways," Gunn wrote.

Of course, no one is really expecting the Suicide Squad to feature too many pop songs. That's clearly a Guardians of the Galaxy thing. Nevertheless, we're hoping that the DC Extended Universe flick will have an extensive soundtrack filled with punk or heavy metal tunes.

Gunn is currently working on The Suicide Squad, which recently added Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Steve Agee as King Shark. It was also reported that GOTG alum Nathan Fillion will appear in the highly anticipated film. However, Fillion's role in the movie has not yet been disclosed.

The Suicide Squad is currently in production and is scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
