It was a jaw-dropping moment that had fans shocked. But did Groot actually speak English or is there another reason why audiences heard what they did?
One theory suggests that Groot didn't actually speak English. Instead, he was speaking Groot and the audience finally understood his language because they are now part of his family.
Amazingly, James Gunn confirmed the theory (via Twitter). The filmmaker made it clear that it was important to include the audience in the franchise.
It's awesome to finally understand Groot and it's a wonderful way to conclude the trilogy while including the audience in something that only the Guardians were able to understand. Needless to say, fans were moved by the idea of being part of the franchise.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brings back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone. Chukwudi Iwuji and Will Poulter join the cast as the High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock, respectively.
