The actor continues on to say how the 1.5 script basically centered around Jake Sully and Neytiri before The Way of Water happens. This is also seemingly hinting the transition of Jake and Neytiri living in Pandora in spite of their cultural differences, a more in-depth moment as they will soon be raising a family together.

“‘Look, read this. We’ll fill in the blanks of what Jake’s been doing.’ I said, ‘When do we shoot this one? Because this is amazing.’ He goes, ‘No, no, that’s just something I wrote over the past year to give you his backstory.’”

Seeing as one of James Cameron’s main goals right now is for the Avatar sequel to break box office records, there’s a high chance that this will eventually come true. Not to mention the stunning CGI the trailers have presented recently. Are you excited to watch The Way of Water?

Avatar: The Way of Water hits theaters on December 16, 2022.
