James Cameron Treats Avatar Crew with Screening of Sequel's Finished Footage

There is little doubt that working on the Avatar sequels is no easy task. However, the crew of the highly anticipated films also get some awesome perks in the job. It has just been revealed that director James Cameron decided to treat the crew with an exclusive screening of some finished footage that will appear in the movies.

The revelation comes from producer Jon Landau, who posted a photo of the crew as they watched some of the nearly completed scenes on the set of the Avatar sequels. Check it out below.

"Jim gathered the crew to show them three scenes with near finished visual effects from Weta Digital. Everyone was excited and pumped up to get back to work. Look forward to when we are able to share with you," Landau wrote.

Three scenes might not seem like a lot but it's still better than not seeing anything, right? In addition to that, the finished footage does confirm that things are going smoothly for the cast and crew, who had to fly back to New Zealand to continue working on the movies. Hopefully, there will be enough finished footage for Cameron to come up with a brief teaser about the sequels.

Avatar 2 will bring back Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald, who all appeared in the first movie. They will be joined by new cast members Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, CJ Jones, and Vin Diesel. The second movie is currently scheduled for release on December 22, 2022.
