Jake Johnson to Voice Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Though Sony may have loaned off Peter Parker to Marvel Studios, they're still moving forward with several Spidey-related projects including the Venom spinoff and the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. We now have confirmation that Peter Parker will be appearing in the movie, and his voice actor has just been revealed.

During their panel at CinemaCon (via ScreenRant), Sony revealed that Jake Johnson (Jurassic World) will be providing the voice of Peter Parker. We know that the main focus of the film will be Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), but it looks like the original Spider-Man will also have something to do with the film.

In the comics, Miles eventually embraces being Spider-Man after he witnesses Peter Parker get killed in a clash with the Green Goblin. We don't know if the movie is going to go that direction, but the trailer does have Miles lamenting in front of a tombstone.

Besides the Peter Parker reveal, the CInemaCon panel has also revealed two villains for the movie: Green Goblin and the Kingpin. The characters have to be introduced to the MCU, but it's sure to be interesting to see them come to life in Miles Morales' animated world.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse comes out Dec. 14.
