Jacob Batalon Reacts To Spider-Man's MCU Return After New Sony/Disney Deal

We're all excited about the fact that Spider-Man is no longer leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, right? After all, this would mean that the third Spider-Man film will still be set in the MCU. However, Spider-Man: Far From Home star Jacob Batalon may have confirmed that he is happy to move forward whether Sony and Disney made a new deal or not.

Batalon recently spoke to Screenrant after it was confirmed that Disney and Sony have made a new agreement on Spider-Man 3. Although the Spider-Man: Homecoming actor admitted he was glad about the deal, he also stated that he was ready to continue with Peter Parker's story without the MCU.

"I'm really happy," Batalon said. "I think we were all really set and ready to go with Sony, we were ready to move on and do the third one just with them, but we're more than happy to work with Marvel again."

We can't blame Batalon for believing that Spidey's story would have to continue without the MCU. I'm sure everyone thought that there was no way that Sony and Disney would come up with a deal that works for both studios. Nevertheless, we're relieved that the negotiations were made and we can all look forward to another Spider-Man film set in the Marvel Universe.

While Batalon is more cautious about his celebration, his Far From Home co-stars Tom Holland and Zendaya were openly celebrating Spider-Man's MCU return on social media. Holland shared a scene from the Wolf of Wall Street where Jordan Belfort declares that he's not leaving while Zendaya posted the iconic dancing Spider-Man gif.

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled for release on July 21, 2021.
