Chan, 60, talked about his hit 1998 Hollywood movie alongside Chris Tucker, Rush Hour. The martial artist admitted that he thought the film would flop. In contrast, it was a huge hit and even spawned two sequels Rush Hour 2 in 2001 and Rush Hour 3 in 2007.
Fans are in for a huge treat because Chan and Tucker are reuniting for Rush Hour 4. Chan confirmed the fourth installment at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Variety reported.
"I got a phone call. Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker call me from New York. They're crazy. We were $70 million in the first weekend. For me, I don't know how to count," Chan said, recounting about the first film.
"We're talking about Rush Hour 4 right now."
Jackie Chan Shares What Makes His Action Movies Better
Chan is popular for his action-comedy movies. As he reflected on his popularity and success, he credited it to the way he controls his films on every level.
"There are so many good action stars. My action is better than some other people, not because I'm really good, but because I write a script suitable for myself," Chan explained. "I can use the camera angle to make my action better. At night, I go home and edit myself and use those kinds of things to make my action better."
Chris Tucker Previously Confirmed Rush Hour 4 In 2018
In 2018, Tucker also spoke about Rush Hour 4. He confirmed that they were all on board for the fourth film.
"It's happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don't ever forget it," Tucker said on ESPN's podcast The Plug.
At present, there is no release date for Rush Hour 4.
