Italian Sculptor Dedicates Statue To Iron Man’s Death In Endgame

Tony Stark or Iron Man is probably this generation's most popular Avenger. In fact, his death marked one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). And what better way to commemorate Iron Man's ultimate sacrifice than to dedicate a statue for him?

Many Marvel fans expressed their gratitude towards the Avengers: Endgame through different ways. Some fans created fanarts, parodies, and paintings. But in a recent tweet by Sci-Fi-themed radio station Krypton Radio, one artist in Italy has gone over and beyond the usual fan tributes and sculpted a statue of Iron Man.

This statue sits at the town of Forte dei Marmi in Tuscany, Italy. It was sculpted by artist Daniele Basso for the 'Oltre Verso' art exhibit in the country. Basso is known for his collective exhibitions and permanent collections at different galleries and museums in Italy, so it's not surprising that he can come up with an astonishing sculpture of Iron Man.

Below the statue, there is a plaque to explain the message of the art:

"The first monument dedicated to Iron Man in the year of his death in the cinematic world, we celebrate Tony Stark as a man who dedicates his life's fortunes to fight for the ideals he believes in ... reminding us that we are all the protagonists of our time - that the future of humanity depends on our decisions ... that all of us must be heroes!"

We can all agree that an impressive art needs an impressive title, so Basso referred to Iron Man's statue as ‘Man of Steel'—which is funny since it's a familiar name given to DC's Superman. Anyhow, I believe Iron Man deserves to be called one as well because of his technological contributions to the MCU.
