From the title itself, this comedy and fantasy anime has a unique premise that draws attention to its main character and the titular vampire princess, Komari Gandesblood.
After spending three years as a shut-in, Komari wakes up to surprising news—she's been appointed as a Commander in the Mulnite Imperial Army!
The catch is that her new unit consists of power-hungry and (literally) bloodthirsty vampire soldiers who won’t hesitate to kill their superior at the slightest sign of weakness.
Komari’s problem stems from her decision not to consume blood. So, despite coming from a powerful vampire family, she lacks the ability to be worthy of her title – let alone lead a troublesome unit of vampire soldiers!
Now, Komari has to pretend to be a strong and powerful leader to command her troops and prevent them from turning against her.
Komari simply wants to spend her days in her room, so how will she succeed as a commander in the military?
Thankfully, she has her reliable (and smitten) maid, Villhaze, ready to help her every step of the way.

Yes, The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess is a yuri anime. It delves into Komari’s romantic interactions with different female characters like her maid Villhaze and the Empress Karen Helvetius.
Even from the first episode, Vexations doesn’t shy away from showing yuri interactions, especially in that NSFW scene featuring Komari and Vill.
But the anime seems to lean more towards the "harem of girls around an oblivious main character" trope.
The only difference here is that the protagonist is a girl, who will eventually have a harem of female characters all vying for her affection.
Moreover, the light novel that the anime is based on hasn't shown much development in actively pursuing the romance aspect of the plot.
It would be more accurate to say that the series loves to tease with its yuri undertones rather than being a yuri romance with actual development.
