Vermeil in Gold is based on a manga illustrated by Yoko Umezu and written by Koto Amana. It is serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan since 2018 and has been collected in 6 tankobon volumes as of June 2022.

The manga is still ongoing as of this moment which means that supporters of the show won’t be saying goodbye to their favorite characters soon. The anime confirmed that it will have a total of 12 episodes for the first season.

However, it was not confirmed which part of the manga will be covered but considering that the series is still ongoing, there seems to be a lot of content available for the story to continue.

Volume 6 of the manga was released on June 10, 2022, which means that fans will have to wait for a couple of months to a year before another volume will be available, considering the trend of volume releases by the creators.

The answer depends on the preference of the viewer or reader. There are people who are into reading manga while some enjoy watching anime. The advantage of those reading the manga is that they are ahead of the story.

So far in the published chapters, Vermeil’s traumatic past was explained, giving more context to her back story. Her relationship with Alto has also improved over time. Meanwhile, the anime version has animation and music, making the characters come to life and adding impact to the overall story.

Unfortunately, both readers and viewers will have to wait as the manga and anime are both ongoing as of this writing. Not all chapters have been translated to English as well. In terms of story flow, the anime is staying true to the manga which is a plus point.

Either way, Vermeil in Gold is an interesting anime for those who are into fantasy and ecchi. It is just a matter of choosing the best medium for their preference.
