The prequel is meant to tell the history behind the creation of the Witchers and how monsters started to roam the Continent. The series has been in production for several months, and we heard few updates, which makes us wonder if the series has been canceled.

Is The Witcher: Blood Origin Canceled?

No, The Witcher: Blood Origin is not canceled! In fact, the release date for the prequel was announced during Netflix's 2022 Tudum Event.

There has been little news about the series in the past months, but the Netflix event gave us a lot of updates from the cast members themselves. Sophia Brown, who plays Eile, tells us about the instrument her character plays in the series.

Laurence O'Fuarain, who plays Fjall, talks about his character's back tattoo written in elvish script. It translates to:

As you carried me, now I shall carry you,

Into every battle, and every brawl

To slay those who will meet us on the field,

So that you may live as long as I hold my breath.

We also learn that Michelle Yeoh got to choose the eye color for her character Scian. She chose the color aquamarine, to go for an ethereal look.

The presentation of the show also included the announcement of a new cast member. Minnie Driver joins the cast of the show, but her character is still a surprise. All we know is that her character has a pivotal role in connecting Blood Origin and The Witcher.
