Steel Ball Run is perhaps the most praised part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Thus, many were excited about the Steel Ball Run anime potentially being confirmed by Stone Ocean’s animation director.

While the teaser has since been deleted, there’s still a good chance that the highly anticipated JoJo part 7 is in the works which wouldn’t be too surprising given how popular the series continues to be.

Stone Ocean Director Hints at Steel Ball Run in Deleted Post

Recently, Stone Ocean animation director Yumenosuke Tokuda shared an intriguing teaser on X (formerly Twitter) which he deleted shortly after.

The teaser isn’t a visual or trailer for a new JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime. Instead, it’s a repost of a short clip of someone riding a horse.

Aside from the fact that horses are a big part of the Steel Ball Run story and action, the repost was accompanied by a statement that says JoJo fans should wait for further news. This is a strong indication that Steel Ball Run is likely in the works.

Even though he deleted the post soon after, it was still noticed by plenty of fans online and even noted by anime-related websites.

Its deletion might be because the anime hasn’t been officially announced yet. Given the statement in the post though, chances are high that the anime is already in the works.

Will David Production Return to Animate Steel Ball Run? Early Predictions

All six parts of the newer JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime were produced by David Production, the studio behind shows like Cells at Work! and Undead Unluck.

While Tokuda has worked with other studios before for shows like Moriarty the Patriot and Attack on Titan, it’s likely that JoJo Part 7 will be produced by David Production again.

Of course, fans will have to wait for an official announcement before the studio for part 7 is determined. Moreover, the anime being in the works is also still a rumor for now.

When Will the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run Anime be Announced? Our Predictions

If David Production will indeed return for the next installment in the series, chances are that fans will need to wait until late 2024 or early 2025 at the earliest.

That’s because the studio is still working on the fourth cour of the Urusei Yatsura reboot. There’s also the fact that new shows are typically announced months or even years before they premiere.

If it does get announced, it’s likely that it will be exclusive to Netflix given that the streaming platform got the rights for the first six parts.
