We know that Xbox basically lost to the PlayStation when it comes to exclusives, but with next gen consoles launching this month, Microsoft is looking to get back on its feet with Xbox Series X|S. What's interesting is, the official Xbox Twitter account could be teasing a Mandalorian exclusive game.
Here's the post:
For now, nothing official has been confirmed, but I can't imagine any other reason why Xbox would tease "The Mandalorian and The Child for no reason." I can imagine a Mando-themed console, but I'm sure a lot of people will feel misled if that was the case.
With EA set to lose their Star Wars license in 2023, it would make sense for Microsoft to try and swoop in and land a Star Wars license. With Sony having all the Spider-Man exclusives on their end, Star Wars could be something that would let a lot of fans consider the Xbox. Personally, I'm against the concept of exclusives, but if Xbox wants to win the console war of the next gen, it will have to pull moves like this.
If anything, all we can really do now is speculate. With the Star Wars platformer games focused on Jedi like Cal Kestis, it would be great to get a game where we would be able to scour the galaxy as Din Djarin. Heck, maybe they can make it a prequel that follows Mando during his mercenary days. They could probably use a lot of the materials made for the cancelled Star Wars game, Project Ragtag or Star Wars 1313.
Catch the second season of The Mandalorian now on Disney+.
