Orter Madl is a Divine Visionary and holds a position within the Magical Power Administration, a subdivision of the Bureau of Magic.

He sports long, dark brown hair with extended bangs, complemented by distinctive lines on his cheeks that converge into a rectangular pattern.

Orter’s eyes feature a captivating yellow iris with a swirling design on top. Many fans compare his look to that of Harry Potter.

Just like most wizards in the series, Orter uses a wand. What sets his wand apart is the incorporation of an hourglass into its grip.

Orter's magic is called Sands, and it allows him to manipulate and create sand. Compacted sand at a high density can cut through steel.

Orter’s sand, which is recognized for its versatility in combat, demonstrates exceptional offensive and defensive powers.

Orter is an interesting character who is not outright evil, but he falls into the grey area where things are a little murky. He staunchly upholds existing rules and is unwavering in his beliefs.

He exhibits absolute ruthlessness and is willing to take extreme measures to safeguard the status quo.

Orter’s intimidating presence extends to the point where he can instill fear even in someone as powerful as Cell War.

Nevertheless, he remains open to cooperation and is willing to assist those who challenge the status quo, especially in dire circumstances.

He acknowledges Mash Burnedead's accomplishments but harbors a deep-seated hatred for him.

The second season of the anime reveals that people throughout the academy are becoming aware of Mash’s lack of magical abilities.

Mash is summoned by the Bureau of Magic to prove that he doesn’t have access to any sort of magic.

The Divine Visionaries then find out that Mash might be key to understanding Innocent Zero.

Orter suggests that Mash can survive as a weapon against Innocent Zero, but only if he demonstrates his worth by genuinely attaining the title of a Visionary.

However, Mash would need to clear the exam to get the title of a Divine Visionary.

In Episode 2 of Mashle Season 2, Orter sends Orca to closely monitor Margarette to ensure Mash fails to appear for the exam.

Orter wants to sabotage Mash’s exam at any cost, showing his hatred for Mash, who is magic-less but remains immensely powerful.

It is quite likely that Orter is jealous of Mash's abilities and wants him to fail.

Mashle Season 2 covers The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam arc and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
