With the upcoming release of Invincible season 2 part 2, the show not only gives a new suit to Mark (voiced by Steven Yeun), but it also showcases a new blue background with black lettering on the show's title card.

This is a foretelling of Mark's new superhero suit, which comes earlier than anticipated by avid fans of the comic book franchise.

The new black and blue suit, however, doesn't come as a surprise to the comic fans. In fact, it's no secret that the blue and black suit signifies a more mature and darker time for the superhero.

But some fans believe that the Invincible blue suit is cursed.

But what happens when Mark wears the blue suit? This Redditor shared the meat of the theory.

"Invincible himself tells Eve, every time he uses it something terrible happens, if I'm not mistaken that's why he decides to go back to the classic suit. I don't remember in what issue, since there is an interval where he returns to the classic suit and we still see brutal battles, but for a certain part of the story it seemed that the blue and black suit was cursed, it was an omen that his hands were going to be stained with blood.
Even so, some of the events that Invincible experienced with that suit:
  • The alternate dimension where the Immortal became a tyrant.
  • The battle with Powerplex where the villain's family dies.
  • Invincible War.
  • Conquest first fight.
  • Killing Rus Livginston.
  • The Death of Everyone."

Mark also has a conversation with his costume maker, Art, where he shares that he doesn't feel like himself when he wears the blue suit. He also pointed out all the bad things that happened to him while wearing the suit.

Art tells him that he doesn't need to wear the blue suit if that's how he feels. When Mark goes back to his original suit, he is able to smile once again.
