Haikyuu Final Movie Officially Premieres in Japan
The first of the full-length final films of Haruichi Furudate’s sports manga series premiered in Japan on February 16, 2024.
It is titled Haikyuu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, covering the “fated showdown” between rivals Karasuno High and Nekoma High.
The film will have a worldwide release, but there’s still no word about international release dates for now, so be on the lookout for future news and updates.
What Is the Haikyuu Final Movie About?
The final movies of Haikyuu will cover the remaining chapters of the manga series that have not yet been adapted by the anime.
The first film will follow the events after Karasuno High defeats Inarizaki High in the Spring Nationals tournament.
Karasuno will then face their long-time rival, Nekoma High, in an impactful match that will push everyone to their limits and through the impossible.
After the match between Karasuno and Nekoma, the winner will face Kamomedai High.
Basically, the rest of the events that will happen during the Spring Nationals tournament are expected to be adapted into the final movies.
There’s also the Haikyuu timeskip, which will show everyone’s endeavors after their time in high school.
Meanwhile, the title of the second film of the Haikyuu final movies has not yet been announced as of writing.
Is the Haikyuu Final Movie on Netflix?
The Haikyuu Final movie is not on Netflix as of writing. The first film is still screening in Japanese theaters, and fans worldwide are looking forward to its worldwide release.
Don’t be discouraged, as Netflix is home to the anime adaptations of Haikyuu. It has all four seasons of Haikyuu and even four of its recap movies, depending on your location.
Aside from Haikyuu, Netflix also offers other sports anime series like Kuroko’s Basketball, Yowamushi Pedal, and even the classic anime Slam Dunk.
Haikyuu Final Movie Netflix Release Date Speculation
We expect the first of the Haikyuu Final movies to stream on platforms such as Netflix six months or later after the film’s Japanese release.
It will take time before Netflix subscribers will be able to watch the film since it will be released in Blu-ray and DVD format first.
It’s better to wait for the Western release of the movie and watch it in theaters instead of waiting for it to arrive on various streaming platforms.
