Emma Corrin recently addressed their potential return as Cassandra Nova in the MCU. Should fans expect their return?

The Emmy-nominated actor made their MCU debut as the fan-favorite villain in Deadpool & Wolverine. While the character met their demise by the end of the film, some fans are still hoping that Corrin would return in the franchise to reprise the role in another project. After all, thanks to the multiverse, there is a way for the character to come back.

In an interview with Variety, Corrin opened up about their experience playing Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The actor said, "I felt like I was at some kind of theme park all the time because things were just so overwhelming, and I was like, ‘This cannot be real. I must be walking around with a visitor’s pass. Like, I can’t belong here.’"

Corrin praised Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy as they "made it feel like a small thing, not this massive scary thing."

"They did so much to make me feel like I was stepping into something that wasn’t daunting at all, but was just like a playground. And it really felt like that," they said. "Especially with Cassandra, because I was in such a position of power as a character."

When the potential MCU return was brought up, Corrin expressed interest in reprising the role and suggested the idea of a team-up between siblings Cassandra Nova and Charles Xavier.

"I absolutely would, 100%. I think her story’s not over. I would like to see a Professor X and Cassandra Nova bonding film — a sibling comedy like Step Brothers. Make it happen! Internet, do your thing!" they said.

So far, Marvel Studios has not laid out any plans to bring back Cassandra Nova in a future MCU project.

So far, plot details regarding the X-Men MCU reboot are still being kept under wraps, and it is expected to take place some time after Avengers: Secret Wars.

Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is currently attached to helm the project. Beef creator Lee Sung Jin and The Bear co-showrunner Joanna Calo are writing the screenplay.

Last year, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave a tease on what fans should expect from their reboot of the X-Men property.

"We had a great experience with him on Thunderbolts*. And if you saw that movie, what he did with those character interactions, he also has his pulse on, shall we say, a younger demographic," he said.

"He’s younger than me for sure, but he’s tapped into that in a way that I think was important for Thunderbolts*, much more important for X-Men. Because X-Men, as it was in the comics, will be a very youth-oriented, focused, and cast movie."
