- Quick Answer: Creator Terry Matalas denied that Billy Maximoff is the Client or a background extra in VisionQuest, though future appearances remain heavily rumored.
VisionQuest creator Terry Matalas has shut down fan theories about Billy Maximoff’s (Joe Locke) appearance in the new Disney+ series.
Vision (Paul Bettany) has already reunited with his son Tommy (Ruaridh Mollica), but he still has another child, Billy, with Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who has yet to appear in the series. So, will fans see Billy in VisionQuest?
Is Billy Maximoff in VisionQuest?

There are two main theories about Billy appearing in VisionQuest. The first emerged after the introduction of a mysterious character named the Client.
Two episodes in, the Client is only known as an unidentified figure who hired bounty hunter Paladin (Todd Stashwick) to capture White Vision. Many believe that the Client is actually Billy.
The other theory suggests that Billy secretly appeared in the premiere episode by following Tommy around.
To put these theories to rest, Terry Matalas revealed that neither claim was true.
“It’s not Billy,” he confirmed to New Rockstars. He also denied that the Client was either Mephisto or Tony Stark.
“But also, it’s not, I don’t want everybody to go down to the Mephisto thing. Like who is it, who is it, is it going to be Tony Stark?…It’s not that kind of story,” he continued.
He also clarified that the person who followed Tommy was not Billy but an extra who resembled Wiccan.
“Somebody had taken footage of Tommy and Lisa walking in Borough Market and freeze framed and, like, ‘It’s Billy, look, that’s clearly.’ It’s not. It’s an extra,” he explained. “We had a background actor who had a very similar haircut and hoodie. It’s not. I wish we had seen that on the day. We might’ve flagged that. But Billy is not walking around Borough Market.”
With both theories debunked, fans will have to wait for further episodes to learn whether Billy will appear in VisionQuest after all.
Will Billy Maximoff Appear in VisionQuest?

So far, Marvel Studios has remained mum about Joe Locke’s return as Billy Maximoff in VisionQuest. Despite the lack of confirmation, many strongly believe that Billy will eventually appear in the series.
After all, VisionQuest is set to conclude the WandaVision trilogy, and Agatha All Along ends with Billy setting out to find his brother, Tommy. So, it seems unlikely that this franchise will conclude without their reunion.
Ruaridh Mollica himself may have accidentally confirmed that Locke would appear in the later episodes of the series after revealing that "it was amazing [shooting with him]."
He also said that they filmed their MCU scenes before working together on a play.
“And so we met for a coffee beforehand to get to know each other and we were just so excited. We became such good friends instantly,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “And then we did a play on the West End together and had this big secret that slowly started to leak as we were doing it. And it was fun, people would be doing secret MCU fan art at the stage door. It was amazing, my first time connecting with fans and people were excited about it."
To add more fuel to the fire, Locke himself attended the VisionQuest premiere as a “special guest” at the BFI IMAX during the 70th BFI London Film Festival, walking the red carpet alongside Paul Bettany and Mollica.
So, if these aren't enough to confirm Billy’s appearance in VisionQuest, we don’t know what is.
VisionQuest premiered on Disney+ with its first two episodes on October 13. The series will run for eight episodes through November 10, with new episodes released every Tuesday.
