The closing moments of 2016's Captain America: Civil War left a lot of us on the edge of our seats after Tony Stark found out that Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier killed his parents. The revelation then led to a heated 2-on-1 battle which saw Iron Man, Captain America, and The Winter Soldier slug it out with Steve and Bucky ultimately getting the upper hand and the win.

Fans only seem to remember the clash between the co-leaders of the Avengers and for obvious reasons but Bucky and Stark also had an epic encounter during the film's climactic battle. Marvel Studios' Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding unveiled a glorious keyframe which sees Cap's best friend trying to intercept Iron Man's arc reactor blaster but to no avail. The scene was actually included in the final cut of the film and was the main reason why Bucky lost his metal arm. I gotta say though, the artwork looks a lot better and more cinematic than what we got in the film. Check it out here:

A lot has happened after the events of the 2016 blockbuster leading up to Avengers: Endgame and as fate would have it, Bucky would remain the last man standing after everything was said and done. Now, the former super-assassin is on his road to redemption via the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which will see him and Sam Wilson team up following Steve Rogers' retirement. But with Baron Zemo lurking in the shadows, is Bucky really safe from being brainwashed anew? It's obvious that they'll cross paths in the series and it'll be interesting to see how their dynamic changes now that Bucky is a free man. Then again, anything can happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Let's all wait and see.
