With Avengers: Endgame only a few weeks away, fans are once again watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Not surprisingly, we are finding more Easter eggs that we have missed during the first viewing. For instance, there was another Captain America Easter egg in Iron Man 2 other than Steve Rogers' shield.
In Iron Man 2, Nick Fury gave Tony Stark a surprising present: a case that once belonged to Howard Stark. Tony immediately finds the blueprint for the arc reactor that Howard and Anton Vanko had worked on as well as some old videos that hid the diagram for a new element. But as a Reddit post has pointed out, we somehow missed the fact that Howard actually had a copy of Captain America Comics #1.
In Iron Man 2 (2010), when Tony is looking through Howard Stark’s briefcase, a copy of “Captain America #1” can be seen among the items. I’ve never heard anyone mention this Easter egg before so I thought I’d post it here.

It's an awesome tribute to Captain America although Tony has yet to meet the First Avenger. In addition to that, it somehow confirms just how much Howard admired Steve and repeatedly told Tony stories about Captain America. Nevertheless, it was easy to miss this tiny detail considering that it came during a crucial time in Iron Man 2.
There is little doubt that Iron Man 2 is one of the best MCU films out there but an alternate version of the opening scene could have made it better. In the alternate cut, Tony and Pepper Potts hilariously argue about Tony's reluctance to go through with the "mission", which turns out to be an amazing entrance at the Stark Expo. Nevertheless, we wouldn't change anything about how Tony dropped in in the movie.
Is it possible that Tony kept the comic book that Howard had in Iron Man 2? We may find out soon enough in Avengers: Endgame, which finally premieres on April 26.
