NetherRealm Studios' Injustice 2 is set to expand the universe with more characters for the sequel. Beyond this, the developer has also teased that customization will be at an all new level, with the introduction of the Gear System that will pretty much set each player's character apart.
A new clip has been released detailing the Gears, and from the looks of it, the approach is slightly similar, but a lot more in-depth compared to our first encounter of Gears in the mobile game.
There's a vast array of suits and add-ons, designed to not only change up the hero's look, but to also give him a boost in power. As you play along, it seems that you can unlock a couple of Gears for that particular character as well.
Each Gear specializes in particular strengths, so you can build your character in a specific way, depending on your strengths as a player. As a bonus for major grinders, Injustice 2 also lets players unlock certain moves and abilities after they reach a certain achievement.

Gear opens up vast possibilities for personalization by enabling combatants of all levels to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters to fit their fighting style."
Injustice 2 will debut on the PS4, PC, and Xbox One on May 16.
