NetherRealm Studios may have another hit sitting on their hands. With Injustice 2 ever so close to launch, DC Entertainment has released a minute-long official gameplay launch trailer for the game.
The new trailer is focused on Brainiac, or so it appears at the start of the trailer. His first words are even taunting:
"Earth's defense is irreversibly compromised. Begin the countdown."
While we get to see a couple more heroes and their own gripes with what's happening, Brainiac seems ready to hijack the stage at any moment. He narrates his purpose, amid switching between gameplay scenes and cutscenes.
To say that the game is visually appealing to play is something of an understatement. We see fights between heroes and villains, Supergirl's sudden outburst, and a face-off between Superman and Brainiac. Is that last part a signal that the heroes will once again unite under the same banner to fight off the alien threat? Then again, when you think about it, Superman is an alien, too.

Injustice 2 is headed to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The mobile tie-in game is already out, and from what I've seen so far, it's a glorious follow-up to the originals. The controls need a little getting used to, but it's far superior than swipes and taps in the first one.
