Industry Insider Slams Rumors Korean Star Park Seo-joon Will Play Marvels' Amadeus Cho

Last year, one of the things for which K-pop and Marvel fans rejoiced was when Korean actor Park Seo-joon announced his participation in the MCU roster.

In the MCU, anticipation comes from fan casting rumors; many fans speculate that Seo-joon will be playing Amadeus Cho in the upcoming The Marvels.

Before the expectations grew bigger, popular entertainment insider Daniel Richtman cleared up rumors with a tweet. He teased that the Fight for My Way actor will be taking over a different character in the upcoming sci-fi movie.

Instead of the Hulk-like superhero, Amadeus, a.k.a Brawn, the South Korean actor is expected to be seen as Prince Yan of Aladna in The Marvels, says Richtman.

Prince Yan is Carol Danvers' (Brie Larson) husband, the leader of a musical planet where everyone sings as a way of communication.

In July, a rumor circulated online that Captain Marvel's sequel will have ‘musical elements,’ which might give justification if Seo-joon will portray the Prince.

In the comics, Prince was almost forced to marry against his will given Aladna’s customs, according to which only women choose their partners. Captain Marvel intervenes, which results in their marriage instead and the Prince’s freedom to choose his desired one.

Marvel fans expressed mixed reactions to the news, with some stating that they weren’t enthusiastic about the musical aspects because things were about to get awkward.

However, other sources dismissed the possibility of the What's Wrong with Secretary Kim star portraying either of these superheroes, claiming it is the Kree named Noh-Varr, also known as Marvel Boy, that Seo-joon will be donning on screen.

Despite no official confirmation about Seo-joon's character design and specific plot details that are still under wraps, fans are looking forward to how the movie will focus on the three heroes: Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan. They are expected to be seen trading places every time they use their powers. Their joint forces are an attempt to solve their problem.

The Marvels is scheduled to premiere on July 28, 2023.
