There's just something about dating shows on Netflix that makes you want to binge-watch it. Just like Love is Blind, viewers can't seem to stop watching the new season of Indian Matchmaking.
If you're like many who have finished watching Indian Matchmaking Season 3, you may be wondering which couples are still together. Case in point: the show ended with Arti Lalwani getting engaged to Jamal Ahmed.
But with people believing the rumors that Indian Matchmaking is scripted, many can't help but question if the two are a real couple. More importantly, are Arti and Jamal still together?

Is Indian Matchmaking Scripted?
It's hard to believe people can fall in love through a dating show. Not to mention, there have been some shows that have been discovered to be scripted all along.
Thankfully, Indian Matchmaking is not a scripted show. The matchmaker in the show, Sima Taparia (or Sima Aunty), is a real matchmaker from Mumbai.
Ever since the first season of Indian Matchmaking got released in 2020, she has reportedly been receiving 5,000 calls per day. Her matchmaking fees may likely have also increased since then.

Who Are Arti and Jamal?
It's quite interesting how Arti Lalwani wound up in a reality dating show like Indian Matchmaking. After all, she seemed to be a strong, independent woman with a promising career.
But unfortunately, the death of her father in 2021 encouraged her to seek the help of Sima Aunty to find a potential partner. It was her late father's wish to see her settle down.
Not to mention, her father was a jeweler who wanted to design her wedding ring. The loss encouraged Arti to get the services of a matchmaker.
The 32-year-old cybersecurity compliance officer loved to go to Costco "for no reason" and would often go to the park to walk her dog. Despite Sima Aunty's efforts though, Arti didn't seem to find compatibility with her dates.
Arti started using a dating app, which matched her with Jamal. The two then went to Costco on their first date, where they quickly got along.
Arti and Jamal matched perfectly since they were into fitness. Since Jamal was a trainer, Arti was happy that she had someone who could coach her in kickboxing.
The biggest concern that the two had, however, was that they come from different religions. Arti is Hindu and from India, while Jamal is Muslim and from Pakistan.
Still, this does not seem to make a huge difference for the two and their families. In the show, however, Sima Aunty expressed that she had "difficulty" with the two dating because of this.
Are Aarti and Jamal Still Together?
Despite the religious difference between the two, however, it looks like their relationship is going strong. In an Instagram post, Arti reminisced about her time on the show and explained:
“The years in which Indian Matchmaking were shot, for me, were an incredibly impactful journey. As with all amazing opportunities, some incredible highs were also followed by some wrenching lows. I’m extremely grateful for my experience and feel even more humbled knowing what a journey of self-growth this has personally been for me. I hope you will stick by me through it all and watch my story.”
Their relationship is also going pretty strong these days as pictures of them frequently pop up on each other's Instagram accounts. Aside from their Costco dates, the two playfully tease each other on social media comments.
So are they married?
After four months of dating, Jamal gave Arti a diamond ring and proposed to her on a dock. Arti said yes to the proposal.
Months after Indian Matchmaking, Arti can be seen wearing the ring on social media. In one of her posts, however, Arti referred to Jamal as "my husband."
In one of the scenes in the show, Arti expressed told a friend:
“If a lot of our family gets past the religion. His dad’s a Pakistani, he’s Muslim. My dad would be p*ssed that I was dating a Muslim.”
Hopefully, this won't be a problem with the relationship of the couple. After all, her older sister also married a Pakistani Muslim.
Sadly, there isn't a wedding photo on her account. And as of this writing, there is no photo of her and Jamal anywhere.
UPDATE: The two have updated their social media and revealed that they are now engaged. Congratulations to the happy couple!
