Incredibles 2 Has Just Earned $1 Billion At The Box Office

Incredibles 2 sure is making waves.

Not only has the sequel to Pixar's award-winning superhero animated movie earned a slew of great reviews from fans and critics, it's also broken a lot of records at the box office, beating Finding Dory to become the highest grossing animated movie of all time in the US and then beating Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Now, according to Variety, The Incredibles 2 has just crossed the $1 billion mark, reaching $1.005 billion from both the domestic ($574 million) and international market ($430 million).

This number is massive for an animated film, and Incredibles 2 is now the 36th film to ever cross the $1 billion mark at the box office. Now, the Incredibles sequel joins the likes of Marvel's Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War as well as Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The seventh animated movie to pass the milestone, Incredibles 2 also joins Zootopia, Frozen, Minions, Toy Story 3, Despicable Me 3 and of course, Finding Dory. Seeing the list, fans will note that most of these films come from Disney and from Pixar – which doesn't come as a surprise considering the Mickey Mouse House and Pixar's history.

Now, the only question is whether or not Incredibles 2 is going to earn even more at the box office, topping off its $1 billion earnings.

Incredibles 2 is currently screening in cinemas.
