“I’m honestly not in the race ever,” he said (via Comic Book Resources). “I wasn’t in the race in the first place.”
He also revealed that Amazon MGM Studios is opting to cast a younger actor, and that he is just five years younger than Craig.
“My name’s not getting thrown out, no way,” he continued. “They’re going younger.”
Despite that, Elba wishes nothing but the best for the lucky star who will be chosen to be the next James Bond and expresses his excitement for what is to come.

So far, there is no word on who will officially become the next spy agent, but casting director Nina Gold, known for her work on Game of Thrones, has revealed one trait an actor must have to be the new Bond: “ooze sex appeal.”
Of course, this must also come with strong acting talent. And true to Idris Elba’s revelation, Amazon is looking for a younger actor in their early to mid-30s.
If this actor is finally chosen, he could lead at least three feature films. To date, only Sunset Boulevard actor Tom Francis has been confirmed to have auditioned for the movie.
