Marvel is looking to shake things up in its comic book universe and according to the latest rumor, an iconic character from the Spider-Man comics is set to embrace a new sexual identity. Felicia Hardy aka the Black Cat is one of Spidey's most notable allies and was even romantically linked to the wallcrawler and his alter-ego Peter Parker.

However, the two have gone their separate ways and it doesn't look like Marvel has any plans for them to rekindle their partnership.

In issue #7 of Black Cat's current solo run which hits stores on June 2nd, Felicia is set to lock lips with Odessa Drake. The synopsis for the upcoming issue also seems to hint that Hardy will be undergoing some major changes. It read: "Black Cat's actions of the last few years make her rethink who she is. The price of all the things Felicia and the Black Fox have stolen is finally tallied and the bill is due. And when a bill involves items from the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, and Wolverine, you can't exactly take out a loan."

Now, the folks over at Bleeding Cool are suggesting that the surprising intimacy and physical tension between Odessa and Felicia could lead to the latter coming out as either gay or bisexual which isn't all that surprising considering the said issue comes out on Pride Month. Now, one would think that it's just a quick cash grab on Marvel's part but it can't be denied that the character has a cult following within the LGBTQ+ community.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Silver & Black film is reportedly still in development.
