It looks like Ian Somerhalder just can't get away from vampires. The Vampire Diaries star might not be playing a bloodsucker in his new Netflix series V Wars but now he has to deal with the fanged baddies who want to take over the world.
The trailer for V Wars opens with a young boy being awakened by a noise coming from downstairs. As he investigates, his sister comes to him asking if he heard the noise as well. When the two finally make it downstairs, they are horrified to see a vampire feeding on their parents.
It's not the only terrifying incident happening. A news report confirms that these "vampire killings" are becoming rampant and Dr. Luther Swann (Somerhalder) is called in to find out why. Unfortunately, Dr. Swann realizes that it is caused by a "modified virus" that is causing transformations in its victims.
Things are about to get personal for Dr. Swann because his best friend appears to have been infected with the virus. However, it won't be as easy as finding the cure for Michael (Adrian Holmes), who decides that it's time to declare war on humanity.
It's an action-packed trailer that only hints at the struggle between Swann and Michael. Needless to say, it's going to be interesting to see Somerhalder in a completely different role in the Netflix series.
The synopsis for V Wars reads as follows:
"A doctor is pitted against his best friend after an ancient disease turns people into vampires. From the comics by Jonathan Maberry and Alan Robinson."
V Wars will premiere on Netflix on December 5.
