Ian McDiarmid's Reaction To Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker Trailer Is Pure Palpatine

We all have our own reactions to the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer, with some simply amazed by the awesome footage or excited about the sinister laugh at the end of the teaser. However, nothing can top Ian McDiarmid's reaction to the Episode IX trailer because it is Emperor Sheev Palpatine at his best.

McDiarmid, who was also in attendance when the trailer was revealed at Star Wars Celebration, took time to share the teaser on his official Twitter account. Not surprisingly, his caption is pure Palpatine. Take a look at the tweet below.

"The dark side is stronger than ever," McDiarmid wrote, adding the hashtag #EpisodeIX.

That's certainly an ominous message. Could this mean that Palpatine will try to bring Rey to the Dark Side in Rise of Skywalker? Or will he go after Kylo Ren and take him in as the apprentice he never had in Luke Skywalker? More importantly, does this mean Darth Sidious is still alive and has been hiding all this time?

It might still be a long wait before we get answers but fans are definitely delighted that McDiarmid is back as the iconic villain. His surprise appearance at the Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration certainly made people forget that Mark Hamill and Adam Driver were not in attendance. Needless to say, we're looking forward to seeing more of Palpatine this December.

Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to reconfirm the film's official release date. For now, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is scheduled to premiere on December 20.
