There is little doubt that The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is currently one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. It might have a lot to do with the fact that Peter Dinklage is part of the prequel.
But what can we expect from Peter Dinklage in the upcoming film? The former Game of Thrones actor shared some interesting new details about his character Casca Highbottom.
Peter Dinklage Discusses Casca Highbottom's Role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Dinklage recently spoke to Collider about his upcoming projects including the Hunger Games prequel. He praised director Francis Lawrence before teasing his role in the film.
"Francis is so great, he's so kind and patient and great with actors and knows exactly how he sees the film, which you always want in a director," Dinklage said.
"He sort of sees it so clearly, and he relays that to you as an actor so, so well," he added.
As for his role, Dinklage pointed out that Casca isn't exactly happy with what he has done.
"I think the preview’s online, so you can kind of see that maybe I'm not the happiest camper in the film," he said.
"Viola [Davis] announces me as the creator of the Hunger Games, which is what I am, which is sort of like, 'Careful what you create,' because in the later films that gets out of hand," Dinklage said.
"When you try to create something that's helpful, you know, watch out because it can [go] topsy-turvy," he concluded.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will also star Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman, and Viola Davis.
The prequel will hit theaters on November 17, 2023.
