There is little doubt that fans (and Ryan Reynolds) are still hoping that Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine in a new film. But is it possible that Marvel Studios already has plans on how to bring back the mutant? A new report suggests that Wolverine could be brought back in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The report comes from We Got This Covered, which cites sources claiming that Marvel Studios has every intention to bring back Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly, the plan is to make Stephen Strange travel through several multiverses including the X-Men Universe.
Wolverine isn't the only one who could be brought back in The Multiverse of Madness. It's also possible that the second Doctor Strange film will introduce Deadpool into the MCU. If so, it sounds like fans will only need to wait two more years to see both Wolverine and Deadpool show up in the MCU.
We're certainly loving the idea of Wolverine and Deadpool showing up in a Marvel film. However, it's important to point out that this information has not yet been confirmed. With that in mind, it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be directed by Scott Derrickson, who also helmed the first film. Benedict Cumberbatch is set to return as the Sorceror Supreme and will be joined by Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff. It is still unclear when the sequel will begin production. Nevertheless, it is already scheduled for release on May 7, 2021.
