It looks like X-Men's former Wolverine star Hugh Jackman has some pretty big news lined up for his fans.

Taking to Twitter, Jackman just recently posted a video taken from the Monday episode of The Today Show where the hosts note that the X-Men star is set to appear as a guest on the show's Thursday edition. According to the hosts, Jackman is bringing with him some major news, and the Australian actor seems pretty excited about spilling.

"See you this Thursday on The Today show for an exclusive announcement," Jackman wrote in his tweet.

Check out the post down below:

The news might be anything really, but Marvel fans can't help but hold on to the hope that Jackman is going to announce his plans to reprise his role as Wolverine now that Disney is close to completing its deal with 20th Century Fox. For the past ten years, Jackman has been the face of James Howlett, and even after his gritty and heart-breaking performance in Logan, fans can't imagine anyone else as Wolverine.

Of course, as much as fans hope to see Jackman suit up again as everyone's favorite regenerating adamantium-clawed mutant, it seems very unlikely for The Greatest Showman actor to return to the role. Last week Jackman said himself that he was done with the character – the X-Men star has no plan to turn back and undo Hawlett's death in Logan. Not even for his best friend, 20th Century's Merc with a Mouth, Ryan Reynolds.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what this "big news" from Jackman's all about.

Fox's PG-13 version of Deadpool 2, the kooky Once Upon A Deadpool, premieres December 12.
