Today marks the 20th anniversary of X-Men's release! Hugh Jackman, who played the role of Wolverine, celebrates the film that would go on to change his life forever with a video that takes us to a trip down memory lane.
Taking to Twitter, Jackman shares a silly behind-the-scenes video where he tussles with a Wolverine toy between takes. In the clip, it looks like the Wolverine toy he was "fighting" with was a Toy Biz figure from around 1996. "So here's the thing," he wrote. "When the studio called and asked if I could get in shape to play #Wolverine in 3 weeks. I might have over-promised! But wouldn't you have too? Happy 20th Anniversary X-Men Universe. #Xmen #20" You can check out the clip below!
X-Men became one of the first major box-office success in comic book-related movies 20 years ago. Without a doubt, Jackman was a standout from the very first X-Men film, and would even go on to star in eight more movies, until his retirement from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after playing Wolverine in 2017's Logan. Fans loved his performance as the beloved mutant ever since and the actor is certainly irreplaceable in the minds of the fans.
