How Will Darkseid Be Used In Justice League?

Fans have known for a while that the main adversary in Zack Snyder's Justice League will be Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds), but the ultimate villain will still be Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips. Rumor has it that Darkseid will be pulling a Thanos, and will have a brief appearance in the movie. You think he'll be scary enough?

Umberto Gonzalez revealed during another Periscope session that Darkseid, "will be show, but not necessarily heard." ComicBookMovie had also pointed out that there were rumors going around that Darkseid had previously been on Earth, and he was defeated by the combined forces of humans, Amazons, and Atlanteans. If that's the case, Darkseid's appearance could very well be a flashback.

I'm all fine that Darkseid is part of the DC Cinematic Universe, but I'm hoping that Snyder doesn't make the same mistake with BvS and over-convolute the plot. If I'm being totally honest, I wish they just held off on any Darkseid reveals because it's looking too close to Marvel's Thanos character. Then again, Justice League is coming out before Infinity War, and Darkseid could set the standard for world-destroying villain — Thanos hasn't really done much yet.

Justice League hits theaters Nov. 17.
