As promised, a new trailer for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World has been dropped, and it gives us more on the last installment in Dreamworks' HTTYD franchise.
Here's the official description:
Now chief and ruler of Berk alongside Astrid, Hiccup has created a gloriously chaotic dragon utopia. When the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they've known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myth. As their true destinies are revealed, dragon and rider will fight together—to the very ends of the Earth—to protect everything they've grown to treasure.
I'll admit, the previous trailer was a lot more ominous than this one, what with Hiccup's narration and the image of him with a beard. The new trailer seems to focus more on the main story which will have Hiccup as a young adult.
Besides getting a look at all the new action setpieces, we also get to see more of the hidden dragon world. The last movie also had Valka coming back to Berk, and now we have a new look at her as well as her armor representing the Bewilderbeast.
With Dreamworks working on films like Trolls and The Boss Baby, How to Train Your Dragon manages to be one of those more special franchises from the studio. For one, it actually tells a story that matures with every installment, and not to mention the setpieces are absolutely breathtaking.
Let's hope they end the franchise with a bang.
