How to Get The Deadpool Look with Swords, Costume, and Grenades

Who doesn’t want to be like Deadpool?

Now the fast-talking part may need some insane practice—because it’s hard to top what Ryan Reynolds did, am I right?—but if you’re content with the looking-like-him part, then you’re in luck.

YouTube’s Cosplay Apprentice has just showcased a three-part video that talks about how to create your very own Deadpool costume for your next cosplay party. Or maybe save it for Halloween, in case it takes you that long to perfect the look.

The first video shows a complete rundown of all the components in Deadpool’s costume. Cosplay Apprentice shows off Deadpool’s katanas and the awesome sheath based on the film. Deadpool’s belt complete with pouches dyed to the same color

To create the guns, Cosplay Apprentice made use of airsoft guns that have been modded to emulate Deadpool’s even more. Deadpool’s grenades are also showcased and detailed in the second video. There’s a template up for downloading to make it easier for those who want to create their own grenades. The grenade does need a bit of work, but considering the end product, I’d say it’s worth it.

He also transformed some Home Depot gloves to make them look more rugged, again to get more into the Deadpool character. Keep in mind that all of these are scaled according to the dimensions in the movie, so that’s a really cool finishing touch. To get the details on the swords and that awesome sheath, check out the third video below.

All in all, the videos are pretty easy to follow. Of course, it’s going to take some time making them, because shaping and designing that grenade alone may need a bit more art skills. But it’s not bad to become the Merc with a Mouth. Now, get on to practicing those mad mouthing skills.
