The Horse Nearly Died in Parish Ep 2
The ending of Parish season 1 episode 2 titled Blood in the Water sees Gray Parish (played by Giancarlo Esposito) driving The Horse and his son to safety when a group of assassins tried to take his boss out.
Once Gray parked against an abandoned junk car, he tried having the father and son run for their life while risking his own.
However, when The Horse was running through the cemetery, he ended up getting shot right by his hip, falling unconscious. Viewers are wondering, does he even survive?
Considering that Gray was already feeling guilty about what working for The Horse meant for his and his family's life, leaving The Horse to his death would have been his ticket to freedom. Here's how The Horse survived in Parish.

Gray Dug His Own Grave and Helped The Horse Tighten His Leash
Gray takes it upon himself to bring the unconscious The Horse in his arms and brings him to the nuns, one of whom happens to be friends with Gray.
Episode 3 leads Gray to simply accept he couldn't see a young kid watch his father die on his watch.
Thanks to the nuns, The Horse was kept out of reach from the raiders, for now. He was able to recuperate from his injuries.
Despite his doubts about Gray possibly setting up the trap to kill him, The Horse was eventually convinced that someone like Gray wouldn't. Couldn't.
However, this poses a bigger threat to The Horse and his business, especially since he doesn't know who sent the raiders and how he plans to push back without risking his life.
