Who Is Elaine in The Seven Deadly Sins?
Elaine is the younger sister of Fairy King Harlequin, and she first appeared in The Seven Deadly Sins' Capital of the Dead arc. There, she saw Ban once again, saving him from petrification.
While this arc is Elaine’s first appearance in the main story, she has become acquainted with Ban 20 years before the series began. This story was told in the manga’s first side story.
In the main series’ events, Elaine and Ban develop feelings for each other. By the end of the series, the two officially become a couple. Elaine soon gives birth to a son, whom she names Lancelot.
The Average Lifespan of Fairies, Explained
As a fairy, Elaine is small and looks quite young. In the series’ world though, fairies are a long-lived race.
While they don’t live as long as goddesses, they have incredibly long lifespans compared to short-lived humans. That’s because fairies have an average lifespan of 1,000 to 1,500 years.
This can be seen clearly in King, one of the titular Seven Deadly Sins. Even though he looks young, he’s actually over 1,300 years old.
Given that Elaine is King’s younger sister, King’s age can give us an idea of how old Elaine is.

The series did not mention her exact age, but it’s clear that Elaine is over 1,000 years old. She doesn’t act like it though, as she still has a child-like demeanor. It doesn’t help that she looks very much like a human child.
Despite this, Elaine has become a mother after the main series’ epilogue. Even though she hasn’t appeared in the Four Knights of the Apocalypse sequel series, her son Lancelot is one of its key characters.
