One of the much-awaited shows for Summer 2021 is the second season of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. This fantasy slice of life series from Kyoto Animation has remained a classic and essential must-watch for many anime fans since the first season's release.
The story revolves around office worker Kobayashi, a human who encounters a dragon in the mountains. She ends up saving the dragon's life. To repay her for her gratitude, the dragon, Tohru, has decided to work for Kobayashi as her maid. Kobayashi's life is slowly changing as she becomes a bridge between dragons and the human world.
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is a seinen manga series created by Coolkyousinnjya. It began serialization in 2013 under Futabasha's Monthly Action. Numerous manga spin-offs have also been released. In 2017, the first season of the anime adaptation was released. The second season premiered last July 7, 2021.
Tatsuya Ishihara is directing the season. The late Yasuhiro Takemoto is credited as the director of the series. Mutsumi Tamura (Kobayashi), Yuuki Kuwahara (Tohru), and Maria Naganawa (Kanna) are reprising their roles alongside the supporting characters from the previous season. Aside from the original cast, Tomomi Mineuchi is joining the roster as Ilulu, a new dragon in the Kobayashi household.
Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series as part of their Summer 2021 anime lineup. Although, an important question is: how many episodes will Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S have?
According to the anime's official website, the Blu-ray and DVD information shows that the second season of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid will have 10 episodes. However, the end of Episode 10 showed a preview for the next episode, which means we may have either 11 or 12 episodes, similar to the first season. In addition, this season will seem to have a lot of upcoming extra content—including an OVA and a lot of shorts, which fans will surely look forward to.
