The entire premise of Delicious in Dungeon is anchored on Laios' quest to retrieve his sister Falin who was swallowed by a dragon in time to resurrect her.

Despite the catalytic role that the concept of resurrection magic plays in the series, its exact workings can be a bit confusing. Thankfully, the Delicious in Dungeon manga does provide some insights.

Resurrection magic is an elaborate and long magical procedure that is inextricably linked with healing magic -- the mending of injuries, big or small.

Since a resurrection procedure always begins with healing the dead body's wounds, the person who performs it presumably has experience with healing magic

To give the resurrection a higher chance of succeeding, large portions of meat are needed for the body to regain its strength.

However, the dead person's own blood must be used to avoid complications, which is why moving the body before the process is discouraged.

Even then, Resurrection magic isn't always a guaranteed success. The state of the corpse plays an important role in the resurrectionist's success.

A corpse that has retained its shape and most organs is easier to reanimate.

The episode 11 revelation that the dragon has already digested Falin, leaving only her bones makes her resurrection seem less and less likely.

Without spoiling the manga, much stronger and darker magic will be needed if she's ever going to come back.

Resurrection magic is only thought possible at the dungeon on the Island off the coast of Kahka Brud.

The reason for this is not fully explained but it is believed that death is forbidden on the Island, causing the souls of slain adventurers to linger.

This led to the creation of Resurrection centers within the dungeon, with magicians bringing fallen adventurers back to life in hopes of getting a percentage of their treasure.

Without manga spoilers, do you think that Falin's death can be undone? Let us know in the comments below!
