Why Does Alicent Send Daeron Away?
In George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, on which the show is based, Alicent sends Daeron to Oldtown, where he serves as a cupbearer and squire to Lord Ormund Hightower (James Norton), Alicent's cousin.
While he has not yet been formally introduced, House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 1 gave viewers a glimpse of him when a young boy dressed in green was seen alongside Ormund.
It's also worth noting that Sky Italia credited Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Daeron, and the actor appeared alongside Norton in the season premiere.
However, while Daeron possesses the classic Valyrian features of the dragonlords in the book, silver-white hair and purple eyes, his major appearance change in the Game of Thrones spinoff may reveal why Alicent sent him away.
In the HBO series, Daeron has reddish-brown hair like his mother, a stark contrast to the silver-white hair that serves as the traditional Valyrian hallmark and is shared by his siblings.

"He's a big feature in the book," he told Entertainment Weekly. "But if you read the book narrative sequentially, the material we've covered so far didn't really have a lot of call for Daeron in it, which is why we're getting to this now."
While Condal declined to reveal much about the character, he teased that Daeron's separation from his immediate family is a key aspect of his story and has significantly shaped the man he has become.
Unlike his siblings, Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena, Daeron grew up far from the political turmoil, court intrigue, and family rivalries that defined life in King's Landing.
As a result, he may have developed a different personality and perspective from his brothers and sister, giving him a unique worldview and sense of duty that the series is expected to explore.
