House of the Dragon Unveils Its New Teaser Trailer and Character Posters

Three years after Game of Thrones ended, the franchise is making its return this year with the prequel series House of the Dragon which is set 200 years before the parent series focusing on the House Targaryen and the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war (aka the Dance of the Dragons). Now, we have our brand new footage for the highly-anticipated series.

HBO has released the new teaser trailer for House of the Dragon. While the brand new footage didn't give us a lot of hints regarding the first season's main plot, the one-minute-and-a-half teaser did give us a glimpse at the main characters and the conflict that the House Targaryen will face.

The footage that they've shown so far looks very interesting and they promised a great return to Westeros although in a different era. Of course, we won't know yet if the series will be as great as Games of Thrones until we finally see it in a few months. Hopefully, they will deliver the hype and also reignite the love for the franchise, especially to those who were disappointed with the final episode of Game of Thrones.

The main cast includes Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional cast includes Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, and Savannah Steyn.

George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal created the series and serve as executive producers alongside director Miguel Sapochnik, Sara Hess, Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis, and Ron Schmidt. Clare Kilner, Geeta V. Patel, and Greg Yaitnes directed episodes of the first season. The series is based on Martin's Fire & Blood novel.
